Horizons/West, the long-awaited companion to 2021’s Horizons/East, finds Orange County rock innovators Thrice expanding their thematic arc with introspective songwriting, sweeping textures, and fearless experimentation. Pressed on indie exclusive maroon vinyl, this release is both expansive and deeply personal.

Self-produced by the band, engineered by guitarist Teppei Teranishi, mixed by Scott Evans, and mastered by Matthew J. Barnhart, Horizons/West balances cinematic post-rock tones with intricate rhythms. Dustin Kensrue’s dynamic vocals shift from hushed whispers to commanding roars, grounding an album that interrogates perception, memory, and social influence while pushing the band’s sonic boundaries.

Drawing on the atmospheric depth of Beggars and Major/Minor alongside the rhythmic complexity of Horizons/East, Horizons/West feels like Thrice’s first true sequel, an album designed to stand in dialogue with its predecessor while carving out its own identity. More than two decades into their career, Thrice remain one of modern rock’s most fearless and emotionally resonant bands.
