This Island Earth, the 1955 sci-fi classic probably is best remembered by the monstrous mutant guard who attacked the films heroes during a climactic escape from the planet Metaluna, and its’ leader the Monitor.

Sideshow Collectibles have paid tribute to the iconic design of this Metaluna Mutant in their new line-up of Universal Monsters Premium Formats statues. Measuring 22” tall, this loving 1:4 scale recreation of the character pulls the design straight from This Island Earth’s techicolour film cells - from the insectoid appearance and crustacean claws, to the trousers that the film crew were forced to use due to studio time constraints while filming. The Mutant has been embedded into an incredible diorama base, craggy vista of the planet’s vibrant surface.

No detail has been missed, and this atomic age atrocity from Sideshow is bound to satisfy sci-fi purists and Mystery Science Theatre fans alike!
