The Murlocs - Bittersweet Demons LP Vinyl Record (Skyrocket Coloured Vinyl)

Formed in 2011, The Murlocs are an Australian rock band from Melbourne made up of members of other bands signed to Flightless Records, including King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and ORB. Their sound is a mixture of rock and R&B, with the distorted harmonica of Kenny-Smith giving the band a distinct touch.

Released in 2021, "Bittersweet Demons" provides Melbourne with some much-needed bluesy brightness to bring some joy to listener's mid-lockdown lives. The album is soulful, rowdy, and overall ballsy, with an emphasis placed on exploring new sounds and remaining curious during the writing process. The track "Francesca" is a lively introduction to the release, with "No Self Control" built on a a sincere piano ballad. Kenny-Smith's harmonics open up playfully during "Eating At You" and "Skewhiff", while tracks like "Skyrocket" and "Illuminate The Shade" bring forth a healthy dose of psychedelic expression and groovy riffage. The album successfully maintains a good balance between a fun-loving atmosphere, and a collection of thoughtful lyrics and messages. Over a decade into their creative works, The Murlocs show no signs of stopping, and this release provides even more evidence of that fact.

Pressed on Skyrocket Coloured Vinyl. Housed in a deluxe die-cut cover printed on heavy 350gsm board with pullout insert, inside a custom printed 100% recyclable brown cardboard sleeve.
