Released via Merge Records in 2022, Bleed Out is the 21st studio album from indie folk band the Mountain Goats.

Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle took inspiration from action films from the 1960s to the 1980’s that he watched at his home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ideas started to wander onto paper in January 2021, which lead to the band untie at Betty’s Studio in Chapel. The band's musical talents morphed together in one room meant that the album only took one week to record.

Bleed Out relied more heavily on electric guitars compared to the band's earlier work. Whilst the logically allusive lyrics show off the band's deeper and darker elements in the most vibrant way possible.

A fantastic album well-deserving of a spot in your collection!
