The Matrix Revolutions - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Don Davis 2xLP Vinyl Record (2019 Record Store Day Coke Bottle Green Coloured Vinyl)

Wachowski sisters 2003 film “The Matrix Revolutions,” concentrates on Don Davis' score for the film. The music is punctuated by three collaborations with electronica group Juno Reactor and a cut by Pale 3, an electronica outfit that did the soundtrack to The Princess & the Warrior, Tom Tykwer's follow-up to Run Lola Run. This results in a soundtrack that collects the music from the movies, instead of being a collection of songs "inspired" by the movie, as the last two Matrix albums were.

A score that works well independent of its film, Don Davis' "The Matrix Revolutions - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" relies on lots of sonic textures such as: string glissandos, stabbing brass, ominous bass, clanking dissonance, cacophonous triplets, lots of sudden swells of intensity and instant release. These underpin the emotion and action of particular scenes and since the album itself follows the plotline of the film, it has a momentum of its own, building in drama and effect as it leads toward the climatic super brawl between Neo and Agent Smith.
