‘The Hard Quartet’ is the self-titled debut album by the American/Australian indie rock band The Hard Quartet and was released on October 4 2024. Combining the alternative/indie rock talent of Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney, Jim White, and Emmett Kelly from Pavement, Skunk, Dirty Three, and Cairo Gang, respectively.

Singles Earth Hater and Rio's Song were released shortly after the band announced they were forming, with their self-titled album following only four months later. With the acclaimed alternative/indie pedigree the members have, the flow of each song is undeniable with Malkmus’ vocals blending with Sweeney's riffs and White's thumping drums.
