Recorded across Liverpool and Reykjavík in 2007 with Icelandic collaborators and Mark Gardener of Ride, My Bloody Underground marks a bold and bruised return for The Brian Jonestown Massacre after a four-year hiatus. 

With its warped textures, submerged vocals, and acid-drenched ambience, the album sees frontman Anton Newcombe steering the project deep into experimental shoegaze and drone territory—an intentional callback to the band’s debut Methodrone, while paying tribute to two of his biggest influences: My Bloody Valentine and The Velvet Underground.

Formed in San Francisco in the early 1990s, The Brian Jonestown Massacre (BJM) have built a legendary reputation in underground rock. Led by the enigmatic and prolific Anton Newcombe, the band blends elements of neo-psychedelia, folk, garage rock, drone, and lo-fi noise to create an ever-evolving discography that defies convention. Known for their DIY ethos and chaotic history, BJM are as unpredictable as they are influential.
