‘The Gathering’ is the eighth studio album by American death/thrash metal band Testament and initially released on June 8 1999 and then re-issued in 2008 with the bonus track Hammer Of The Gods included.

Although renowned for their thrash metal sound, 'The Gathering’ continues the tonal shift and transition to death metal, the return of more thrash based songs gave critics and fans another reason to celebrate. With lead singer Chuck Billy and guitarist Eric Peterson both returning, the band's roster was filled out with new recruits Steve Di Giorgio on bass and Dave Lombardo on drums. Despite the new arrivals, this version of Testament sounds as familiar as on previous albums with powerful vocals, raging riffs, and pounding drums.
