Return to the stratosphere—Stereolab re-emerge after 15 years with Instant Holograms On Metal Film, a kaleidoscopic transmission that bends time, tone, and texture into something unmistakably their own.

Formed in London in 1990, Stereolab is the influential Anglo-French collective led by Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane, celebrated for their hypnotic fusion of krautrock, lounge, funk, jazz, French pop, and experimental electronics. With their signature motorik rhythms, vintage synths, and bilingual vocals, they’ve carved out a sound that’s both retro-futuristic and timeless.

Now, 15 years since their last studio album, Instant Holograms On Metal Film sees the group pushing their sonic palette even further—joined by members of Bitchin Bajas, Cavern of Anti-Matter, Monade, and jazz composer Ben LaMar Gay. Across 13 expansive tracks, the album conjures dreamlike moods, philosophical insights, and layered instrumentation, offering a deeply textured listen that rewards repeated plays.
