This essential release combines the band’s explosive debut EP Screaming Life, the follow-up Fopp EP, and the hard-to-find “Sub Pop Rock City” from the legendary Sub Pop 200 compilation. Raw, relentless, and dripping with Seattle’s early underground energy, these recordings capture the birth of a sound that would soon take over the world. Produced and newly remastered by Jack Endino the man behind the original sessions. This collection is pure, unfiltered Soundgarden at the brink of becoming icons.

Formed in Seattle in 1984, Soundgarden helped define the grunge era alongside Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. Fronted by the late, great Chris Cornell, the band’s sound merged metal, punk, and psychedelic rock with a brooding intensity that remains unmatched.

If you love Melvins, Mudhoney, or early Nirvana, you’ll love Soundgarden’s Screaming Life / Fopp.
