The original release of the animated Porco Rosso film in 1992 tells a story about a former World War I flying ace who somehow turned into a pig during the war. The Soundtrack LP Vinyl Record features the original score from the iconic Porco Rosso film, composed by the popular Joe Hisaishi, a Japanese composer and muscial director known for over 100 film scores and solo albums. His music explores different genres and musical styles, associating himself with the Porco Rosso director, Hayao Miyazaki, since 1984.
The album was recorded with a 70 person orchestra, providing a quaint and quirky sonic backdrop for Miyazaki's amazing hand-drawn animation.
