Origin - Harpy 16” Cinemaquette Statue
Origin was created as a combination of imaginary and real animals from nature in the unique style of art by David Zhou, and follows the concepts of “The Origin of Species” by continuing to add more animals from exotic lands, skies and oceans to explore their environmental roles in the rich tapestry of this world.
The Harpy, also known as the Fairy, was recently discovered in the deep rainforest of Central and South America. They have a human-like head, small body resembled hummingbird. Its body covered by bright metal coloured feathers, while its tail feathers are narrow. The colours of individuals are vitally different. Their wings are long and wide, which is capable of flying, while it still retains the flexibility of the fingernails and knuckles, allowing them to engage in a variety of activities.
The Harpy mainly eat nector as food and exist in the form of matriarchal tribes. Supposedly predating humans, the species is a very ancient tribal creature with incredible sculptural and casting skills. Each Harpy has a flying mask with a slender, downward curbing siphon on the front to help it successfully suck up sector. It is closely related to the life of a plant called murrinia. The colour of this plant makes it look like a leaf, which has fat texture, with only one root. It has a strong vitality that they can also survive once they leave the soil. The Harpy would carry it high into the treetops and weave it into a cozy sleeting quarter. Harpies have their own tribal totems, and since humans entered this continent, they have also changed their way of life. Their attitude towards humans changed from curiosity and learning to worship, and thus human images begin to appear more in totems.
The Harpy 16” Cinemaquette Statue brings this beautiful creature to life with exquisitely detailed paintwork to showcase the incredible sculpting and design by artist David Zhou, and comes displayed on an antique style base with a metal plaque. Each of these limited edition statues are signed by artist David Zhou under the base.
Bring some imagination into your collection with the Harpy 16” Cinemaquette Statue.
