Miss Grit lifts the lid on their internal world with Under My Umbrella, their second full-length for Mute Records and a bold, maximalist step forward from the acclaimed Follow the Cyborg. Pressed on Clear Vinyl, the album channels the noirish atmosphere of classic trip-hop alongside dream-pop sensibility and complex production, with Margaret Sohn drawing on the anxieties and heartbreak of the past two years to create something raw and deeply personal.

The record took shape after Sohn returned from an intense solo touring schedule across North America, yearning to capture the less restrained energy of playing live. The title nods to the iconic Rihanna song and embraces a new openness: "I'm letting people in more on this record and trying not to shy away from that. I'm leaving the cyborg behind, I'm letting it all out." The result is an album about coming to terms with yourself, your imperfections, and your complex interior world, delivered with fearless conviction.

Raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and based in Queens, New York, Margaret Dewey Sohn studied music technology at NYU before releasing their debut EP Talk Talk in 2019 and signing with Mute Records ahead of Follow the Cyborg in 2023.
