Dingo tells the story of a boy in the Australian outback who witnesses an impromptu airfield performance by a visiting jazz trumpeter, spending the next twenty years chasing that moment before finally journeying to Paris to find his hero. Miles Davis chose to play that trumpeter himself, his first and only major film role.

Recorded before filming began, the soundtrack reunites Davis with French composer Michel Legrand for the first time since their 1958 collaboration Legrand Jazz. The music moves with ease between hard-bop drive and quiet lyricism, with Davis reportedly approaching every session with remarkable warmth and precision regardless of tempo.

Miles Davis is one of the most influential figures in jazz history, a trumpeter and bandleader whose restless creativity reshaped the music across multiple decades. Michel Legrand was a celebrated French composer and pianist whose work across jazz and film earned him three Academy Awards.
