After being released as a free collection of cover songs for the web, Mayer Hawthorne's "Impressions" EP has now been pressed onto vinyl. Released in celebration of Record Store Day 2021, the pressing includes 6 covers that have never before been heard on vinyl.
Andrew Mayer Cohen, better known as Mayer Hawthorne, is an American singer, producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, his sound is influenced by the works of iconic artists such as Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, Barry White, Smokey Robinson and more. Hawthorne's "Impressions" EP allows his artistry to shine like never before, giving obscure tracks new found popularity, while serving better-known songs with his own unique twist. On "Don't Turn The Lights On" he slows the pace down and eases the intensity, matching the instrumentation with the lyrics, while his cover of the incredibly obscure "Fantasy Girl" reflects his fondness of the original artist with wistful singing atop lyrical instruments. Popcultcha will only accept returns, process refunds, or exchange goods if we are contacted or notified within 7 days of you receiving the goods at your nominated delivery address. We will review this photo and contact you at our earliest convenience to discuss you options in relation to the product issue.
