By the early 1970s, John Cale had moved well beyond the masked, cautious songwriting of his solo debut Vintage Violence, embracing a fearless creative period that produced 1973's Paris 1919.

This deluxe reissue arrives with newly remastered audio that Cale himself has praised for bringing fresh clarity to the original sessions, alongside a wealth of bonus material including alternate mixes, rehearsal takes, and a brand new 2024 recording. It is a release built not simply to mark an anniversary, but to genuinely illuminate what made the album special in the first place.

John Cale is a Welsh musician, composer, and record producer best known as a co-founder of The Velvet Underground. A classically trained violist with deep roots in avant-garde composition, he has spent decades shaping the course of rock, drone, and electronic music.
