Known also as Yim Yames, Jim James is an American vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for the band My Morning Jacket. He's also released 8 solo works to date, with 'Uniform Distortion' taking place as his 6th solo release.
Looking back to his slacker roots, Jim James' 'Uniform Distortion' is a no-frills classic rock and post-punk work of music. A tribute to his old-school spirit, the album includes plenty of guitar and chuckled asides. Just A Fool contains shreddy elements, reflecting what it's like being a rock-and-roll knucklehead, even shouting "Let's rock!" on the energetic You Get To Rome. With plenty of cackling and cracking up through vocal processors, it sounds like Jim James is having the time of his life. It's a truly rock album that will bring you back to your old-school days, with that classic dirtbag rock attitude shining throughout the whole piece.
