Written and directed by Damien McCarthy, Hokum stars Adam Scott as a misanthropic author who travels to a remote Irish inn to scatter his parents' ashes, only to become trapped in a haunting mystery involving a boarded-up honeymoon suite, a local witch legend, and his own buried past.

Joseph Bishara's score drives that dread home with dark, dissonant strings, unsettling electronics, and haunting vocal choruses that intensify with agonising patience. A master of sound design as well as composition, Bishara weaves both crafts seamlessly together, creating a deeply immersive sonic experience where the sound design amplifies the score rather than merely accompanying it, surrounding the listener in an oppressive atmosphere that mirrors the film's dangerous subject matter.

Joseph Bishara is an American composer, music producer, and actor celebrated for his avant-garde approach to horror scoring, with credits including Insidious, The Conjuring, Malignant, and Annabelle.
