Rescued by the soldiers who called him Hellboy, he was adopted and raised as a son by Professor Broom, who created the B.P.R.D. (Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense) to secretly keep the world safe from supernatural threats.

Reproducing down to the tiniest details all the elements of the character in his costume, with the overcoat made in fabric, and presenting a surprising realism to the facial features of actor Ron Pearlman as the character.
