Devo - Nitrous Nightmare Halloween Live 75' 2xLP Vinyl Record (Green & Lemon Coloured Vinyl)

Never before released in its entirety, Nitrous Nightmare captures Devo at their most raw and confrontational, performing live at Cleveland's WHK Auditorium on Halloween night in 1975. Supporting jazz legend Sun Ra, the band found themselves facing a rowdy, costume-clad crowd expecting a slick cover act, only to deliver a work of subversive performance art that pushed the audience to the edge of open hostility.

This recording is believed to document the very first live performance of Jocko Homo, presented here in its full twelve minute glory. Mixed and mastered from tapes kept in the band's personal archive, the collection captures the genesis of de-evolution theory taking shape in real time, music that would go on to reshape culture for decades. Pressed on Green & Lemon Coloured Vinyl and housed in a gloss laminated wide-spined sleeve, this edition includes colour inner sleeves and a fold-out featuring archival imagery and liner notes from Gerald V. Casale.

Formed in Akron, Ohio in the early 1970s, Devo are pioneers of new wave and art rock, celebrated for their satirical lyrics, distinctive visual identity, and the radical philosophy of de-evolution that shaped their entire artistic vision.
