Devo - Art Devo 1973-1977 3xLP Vinyl Record

Futurismo present a repress of the celebrated and sold-out Art Devo 1973-1977, now available as a strictly limited audiophile pressing on Audio Viz Black vinyl across three records. Housed in a gloss laminated wide-spined sleeve, the collection includes a fold-out poster featuring rare imagery and liner notes written by Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald V. Casale, with the tracklist curated by the band themselves.

A vital anthology of unheard and obscure material sourced directly from the vaults of The De-Evolution Band, Art Devo traces the band's journey from their initial conception in Akron, Ohio to the moment before the world woke up. Spanning basement recordings, original demo tapes, unfinished montages, and rare live audio, this collection captures Devo at the dawn of industrial death, mining irony, wit, and dark humour from the madness of a distorted modern world still reckoning with a collapsed economy and the aftermath of Vietnam. Released in honour of their 50th Anniversary, it documents the audio mutations of a band on the brink of greatness, including the very birth of Booji Boy.

Formed in Akron, Ohio in the early 1970s, Devo transformed from a pop art project into the pioneering synth-punk band David Bowie declared the band of the future. Their relentless challenge to preconceptions about music, art, performance, and culture places them among the most important bands in American history.

If you like Talking Heads, Pere Ubu, or The Residents, you'll love Devo's Art Devo 1973-1977.
