With Nothing, DARKSIDE—now a trio featuring Nicolás Jaar, Dave Harrington, and drummer Tlacael Esparza—dive deeper into improvisation, negative space, and spectral textures. Born from loose, spontaneous jams and elevated by organic instrumentation and digital ambience, this album is darker, freer, and more abstract than anything the group has released before. Guitars twist like smoke, rhythms pulse like ritual, and melodies flicker like distant transmissions.

Formed in 2011, DARKSIDE is a genre-defying project that fuses electronic minimalism, psychedelic rock, and atmospheric soundscapes. Their earlier albums Psychic and Spiral were critically acclaimed, and Nothing furthers their boundary-pushing ethos—rich with elliptical rhythms, alien static, and cavernous sonics. With Esparza now fully integrated into the band, Nothing is their most immersive and textural work to date.
