The T2a Pritschenwagen version, the box version, was designed for use in transport and various other industries. Instead of a traditional passenger body it offered an open cargo box, making it an ideal work vehicle. The model's popularity among small businesses, craftsmen and law enforcement made it one of the most commonly used cars in the 1960s and 1970s. The T2a also stood out for its ease of modification, which made it even more versatile.
