Better Way is the debut solo studio album by Danish musician Casper Clausen. It was released January 8, 2021.
The artistic enthusiasm and out of the box, unsettled nature of Clausen truly comes to life with his first debut release. Having performed as the frontman for the acclaimed rock band Efterklang and side act Liima, the artists breaks free from conformity and constraint to explore a fresh originality with seemingly endless options and little to no rules.
Better Way is a surreal maze of twists and turns, full of radiating colours and dense quality. Clausen gets lost in this new path of option but always seems to find his way back, polarising the experience of isolation and longing with the need for comfort and intimacy.
The tracks are radiant and glimmering, while being deeply emotive and soothing giving the listener a sense of hope and space. Sonically, a dream state sound is created with the use of guitars, beats, synthesisers and the artists wispy, yet deep voice taking the genre to an unknown place, possibly sitting somewhere between progressive rock and avant pop. Clausen has passionately created something truly unique and very beautiful. A credit to an artist escaping and finding his own feet.
