caroline 2, the second studio album from the UK experimental collective caroline, builds upon the band’s distinct sonic language—blending post-rock, chamber folk, electronic minimalism, and avant-pop into a sound uniquely their own. Pressed on double vinyl, this immersive release marks a bold evolution of their acclaimed 2022 debut.

Formed in London in 2017, caroline started as a collaboration between university friends Jasper Llewellyn, Mike O’Malley, and Casper Hughes. What began as weekly improvisation sessions grew into an eight-piece ensemble, incorporating violins, brass, electronics, and interwoven vocals. The result is a sound that’s both fluid and intentional, meditative yet emotionally intense.

caroline 2 sees the band pushing further into contrast and complexity—balancing warped vocal processing with moments of raw beauty and rhythmic restraint. The standout single “Tell me I never knew that” features a guest vocal appearance from Caroline Polachek, adding her unmistakable voice to one of the band's most accessible yet sonically adventurous tracks to date.
