From the popular German TV Series Babylon Berlin, comes Vol. II of Season 3 soundtrack which was released in 2020.
The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The International, Cloud Atlas, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer), including the song Wir sind uns lang verloren gegangen performed by Natalia Mateo as well as tracks by Woods of Birnam and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra.
The series is set in Berlin during the latter years of the Weimar Republic, beginning in 1929. It follows Gereon Rath, a police inspector on assignment from Cologne who is on a secret mission to dismantle an extortion ring, and Charlotte Ritter, police clerk by day, flapper by night, who aspires to become a police inspector.
The soundtrack carries the noir theme of this period fittingly, transporting you to scenes of dancing the Charleston in a smoky nightclub to lurking in the shadows of a darkened underground railway. Tracks are suspenseful, uplifting and dramatic, while being an accurate and impressive representation of music of the time.
