15-year-old William Miller gets swept up in the world of rock and rock whilst writing for Rolling Stone. Miller accompanies the rock band Stillwater on their Almost Famous tour of 1973 to learn more about the bands' dynamics whilst making friends along the way.

The soundtrack for this amazing film is nothing short of iconic. Featuring songs by Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel, and The Who this album transports the listener back to the 70s and on the road with Penny Lane. Also featured on the album are some recordings of live performances such as David Bowie's performance covering The Velvet Underground’s I’m Waiting For The Man live in Santa Monica in 1972.

The most recognisable song from this soundtrack is Elton John’s Tiny Dancer, which thanks to the film were able to chart again in 2000.
