Originally released as Air’s second full-length album, The Virgin Suicides became an instant classic, perfectly capturing the film’s dreamy sadness and suburban tragedy through melancholic electronic textures and cinematic depth. For this 25th anniversary release, the French duo revisit the entire album with longtime collaborator Alf Briat, crafting a new analog mix that enhances its emotional power while preserving its signature atmosphere.

Air, formed in Versailles, France by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, are pioneers of French electronic music. Known for their lush ambient production and retro-futuristic style, they’ve drawn comparisons to artists like Pink Floyd, Zero 7, and Brian Eno. With The Virgin Suicides, they blurred the line between film score and standalone album—creating one of the most evocative soundtracks of the 2000s.
