A Princess of Mars is Edgar Rice Burroughs' classic 1912 science fantasy novel, the first in his Barsoom series, where Civil War veteran John Carter is mysteriously transported to Mars (Barsoom), finds himself with superhuman strength, and becomes embroiled in conflicts between warring Martian tribes while fighting to rescue the captive princess Dejah Thoris of Helium, a cornerstone of planetary romance and pulp fiction.

This fully sculpted 1/2 scale statue stands nearly 44” tall and portrays the proud regent as she strides confidently with her sword in hand. Keeping to the Martian custom, Dejah shuns traditional clothing, instead adorning herself with an assortment of ornate gold jewelry. The design of her jewelry seems otherworldly as well, its organic swirls and arcs conforming neatly to Dejah’s shape. Vibrant red gemstones complement the princess’ attire from her tiara to her sandals adding to her regal appearance.

Incredible craftsmanship can be seen all throughout this piece, from the incredibly lifelike paint on Dejah’s skin to the stunning realism of her moveable glass eyes, this half-scale statue holds nothing back.
