The Gruesomes - Cartoon Classics 2 Pack Box Set
From the deepest depths of the Popcultcha warehouse comes a piece from one of Funko’s coolest line of toys. Made for the most nostalgically driven of collectors, the Cartoon Classics line, which was released in 2008, brought to life some of Hanna Barbara and Warner Bros. most beloved cartoon characters, the likes of which had not been visited by toy makers in some cases decades.
Debuting in The Flintsones episode 'The Gruesomes' in 1964, The Gruesomes were a horror themed family who move into a mansion next door to Fred and Wilma. During their second screen appearance in the episode 'The Hatrocks and the Gruesomes', Fred and Wilma recruit the Gruesomes to scare Fred hillbilly friends the Hartrocks out of town. Discovering their aversion to rock music, the Gruesomes, the Flintsones and the Rubbles band together to play a take off of The Beatles song ‘She Loves You’, entitled ‘She said Yeah Yeah Yeah’, with Weirdly Gruesome on guitar and his son Gobby Gruesome on drums.
This set of vinyl figures of Weirdly and Gobby Gruesome, based on their appearance in the 'Hatrocks' episode are beautifully crafted. Standing roughly 6” in height, these figures are a brilliant throwback to the cartoons of yesteryear. Be sure to pick one up while our limited stocks last!
Collectors beware, due to these being lost in our warehouse for the better part of the last decade, we can not ensure that this packaging will be in mint condition. Some boxes contain dust damage or creases that come along with long term storage. Don’t be put off however, these figures are still a brilliant display piece, in box or out!
