Kidrobot - Whiskers the Undead Cat Vinyl Figure by Aesop Rock
Whiskers the Cat first appeared in a series of promo videos for San Francisco-based hip hop artist Aesop Rock for his 2012 album Skelethon. Featuring an anatomically realistic design, this vinyl toy has made use of injected PVC to realise Whiskers’ skeleton, including a hyper-detailed head with sculpted nasal passages and a torso with individual ribs giving way to a heart and intestines. The lower quarters of this piece feature the cat’s skin and fur which offer a nice contrast from the remainder of this horrific corpse.
Standing 11” tall, this mid battle realm-crossing zombie cat comes with exposed innards and a detachable crow that is busy pecking at this beloved pet’s remains.
Featuring awesome gold foil stamped box illustrations by artist Coro, this collaboration between Kidrobot and Aesop Rock will make a great addition to that morbid wall of ugly cat memorabilia that my brother is working on. I’m sure you’ll find the perfect place for this piece in your own homes too.
