NECA are still producing the goods with their Series 6 Aliens range. One member of the collection is the Amanda Ripley 7” action figure in her jumpsuit from the 2014 stealth-horror video game, Alien: Isolation. The game is set 15 years after the events of Alien, Amanda Ripely, daughter of Ellen, is set on a journey to find a flight recorder and have closure regarding the fate of her missing mother. Amanda Ripley stands at 7” tall and is highly articulated. She comes with a motion detector, flamethrower and backpack.

This was the first human character I bought from the NECA Aliens line, so enamored was I with Alien Isolation (check it out if you haven't), and I am so glad I did. This figure comes with almost its own weight in accessories; a motion tracker, a flamethrower and a backpack, all of which are impressively detailed. Her paint applications are up to NECA's usual, excellent standard and the sculpt is mostly perfect. I do have a personal problem with the face sculpt and paint, it doesn't quite look like the Amanda Ripley you see in cutscenes or trailers, but it's certainly good enough and it's not a real problem, just a personal nitpick.
The figure is let down a little bit in the articulation department however. The figure's joints don't bend as far as they should, she can't really crouch like she does so, so often in the game to hide from the Alien, and her ankle rocker isn't very functional, which would make standing difficult if her legs had a full range of movement.
In summary, I do like this figure, I just don't love it, but it's still one of NECA's better offerings, and they're pretty much always at least "good", so this figure must be at least very good, if not excellent. Especially if she's just a display piece, this figure is everything you could want and more, it's just a shame Popcultcha doesn't have the Isolation Xenomorph (my personal favourite from the line) to pair her with.
