In Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, Cruella hires thugs to steal 101 dalmatian puppies to make a coat out of their fur. With the press publishing stories and police closing in on them, Cruella orders the job to be done in one night. When the puppies are rescued and escape that night on a truck, Cruella hunts them down and tries to run them off the road.
This backpack by Loungefly is inspired by that scene. The front pocket is made with custom-shaped applique to look like Cruella’s car as she drives it at full speed, fraught with madness. The pocket’s zipper charm features her licence plate reading “De Vil”. Behind her is the abandoned manor the puppies were being kept, silhouetted against a dawning sunrise. Meanwhile, snow fall cascades all over the backpack, and on the back and side pockets are some of the puppies escaping Cruella’s grasp.
